Marie Herrington is a half-Ukrainian soprano, composer, and choral director who aims to make art with the human voice in as many ways as possible by writing choral music, writing and performing her own art songs/solo voice pieces, and performing a wide range of vocal music from Hildegard von Bingen to Gloria Gaynor. This past year, Marie has been a part of many exciting opportunities. Last October she put out an all voice and electronics album, in January she premiered her own art song at National Sawdust, and in June she was a resident artist at Arts Letters and Numbers. Marie recently created a recital series with pianist Timothy Krippner, called Women In Music, consisting of art songs, arias, solo voice and/or piano repertoire, and non-classical (pop, indie, folk, etc.) songs exclusively by women composers and singer/songwriters. You can find out more about this recital series, or about the rest of Marie’s output by going to her website: www.marieherringtonmusic.com
