How do I join the service on Zoom?
You will start out in a waiting room but we have people monitoring the waiting room who will let you in.
Do I have to have my camera on?
Many people turn on their cameras and feel it creates a greater sense of participation and online community. However, you are not required to turn on your camera and many do not.
Will I be on mute?
Yes. You will be muted. We regularly have people participate in worship leadership from Zoom and they will unmute for their portion and then re-mute themselves.
Is there a chat?
Yes. We have a chat and people use it regularly to say hello to one another and comment on what is happening in the service. However, you are not required to participate in the chat.
Will anyone try to talk to me?
We have a Minister for Hybrid Worship, Rev. Kelly Wiant, who will likely contact you through the chat to introduce herself and welcome you. Please respond to her so she can learn who you are and recognize you in the future.
How do a participate in Communion?
We encourage everyone at home to have Communion elements ready to serve yourself at the appropriate time. You may use any kind of food and any kind of drink.
Can I sing?
Absolutely! All hymn lyrics are posted on slides during the hymns so feel free to sing along. You are muted so don’t worry about anything!
