Mikka Chinbaatar, Mongolian Harpist, Sundays at 10am September 20th-October 11th.
Mikka Chinbaatar is a musician, performer, and educator currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She began her musical journey on the yatga, the traditional Mongolian harp, before expanding her studies to piano and collaborative performance. Mikka earned her Bachelor of Arts from the Mongolian State University of Arts and a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from Southern Illinois University.
Before moving to the United States, Mikka performed as an yatga player with Mongolia’s Grand Theatre of National Arts and appeared in concerts throughout Europe and Asia. Today, she teaches piano while continuing to perform on both piano and the yatga, sharing Mongolia’s rich musical heritage with audiences in the United States.
Mikka is honored to participate in this concert and hopes her performance brings a glimpse of Mongolia’s beautiful musical traditions.
