Eat his Flesh and Drink his blood

The following sermon is from the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, March 22nd, 2026. It is based on John chapter 6 verses 51 through 61. It is one of the more difficult passages in the Gospel of John in which Jesus calls on his followers to eat his flesh and drink his blood. Rev. Harris talks about the human disgust response and how it can be weaponized against marginalized groups. He also looks at the symbolism behind Jesus’ teaching and the purpose of metaphor in erasing the lines that too often divide us from one another.
