Our vision is to grow towards becoming an intergenerational, multi-ethnic, anti-racist, geographically and economically diverse Christian community gathered together and sustained by creative worship, biblically-inspired learning, empathetic ministry, nonviolently disrupting injustice in the world.

First Presbyterian Church Palo Alto is pleased to announce an art commission for an artist or team of artists of color to create two to four works of art for our church sanctuary.

  • Commission: Up to $4,000 for two pieces, or $6,000 for four pieces
  • Size: Each work approximately 60″ x 80″

We are seeking art that brings racially and culturally diverse images into our worship space and embodies our congregation’s commitment to social and racial justice. At least one piece should include a racially diverse representation of Jesus, God, or another biblical figure.

The project will culminate in a “Meet the Artist” event, where the artist(s) will share the story and vision behind the work with our congregation.

The deadline to submit an intention to apply is October 6. Full details, including project guidelines and requirements can be found in this Request for Proposals.
